There is so much to see and do in this special part of South Australia they know you will love it as much as they do.
It is so easy to get to Alpana! You will find it 55km north of Wilpena Pound and 5km south of Blinman. Alpana's homestead is easily accessed by 2WD vehicles and standard vans on a fully sealed road from Wilpena Pound.
Accommodation, camping, 4WD tracks, 4WD guided tours, 2WD drives, walks, bird watching, scenic flights, shopping, dining, mine tours, history, National Park, wildlife, geology, plants, campfires, spring water, unique scenery... there is so much to see and do in the central Flinders Ranges! Alpana Station is perfectly situated to use as your base to explore the area. A three night stay gives you two full days and there is easily enough to fill far more days than that.
Have you heard how perfect the weather is in the Flinders Ranges in Autumn? Yes we need rain but the days are perfect and the nights are cool. If it is not going to rain it might as well be nice!
Looking for a great place to stay in April? The Alpana Station shearers’ quarters is a quality accommodation option that is perfect for families and groups up to 15 people. It is currently available from April 3 to 22 inclusive. There is still plenty of camping sites available throughout April and even some powered sites, although Friday 27 is fully booked for powered sites. Nungawurtina Hut also has availability from April 6 to 12 inclusive and April 17 to 20 and April 25 to May 15. Contact us today to book any of these great options!
2018 marks 140 years since Alpana Station began as Alpana Farm in 1878, with the inaugural lease taken up by Paddy and Ann Henery on April 18. To celebrate we are offering a special package deal for the Mt Samuel Track and Sunset Hill 665.
